Computer Lessons

Glitter Text Generator

Through out this year I have experienced many challenges and accomplishments participating in computer lessons and the eLearning program. I really enjoyed participating in the computer activities, as I learnt new things every time. I especially loved the fact that we were able to post our homework assignments to our blog and therefore do our homework on line. I feel that I have become good at many tasks because of my involvement in computer activities, such as putting together mind maps and learning about uploading information and graphics from various web sites. During this year I have made a Digital Portfolio with my classmates. The Digital Portfolio shows what we have accomplished and learnt throughout that semester. We also added in pictures or diagrams to accompany the text in our Folios. We have had regular typing tests to make sure we are able to keep improving our typing skills. We have also written documents in Microsoft Word, and have made things in Kid Pix and Kidspiration. I have really enjoyed this year's computer lessons. Thank you to my computer teachers for teaching me!

My Online Flipbook

This is my online flipbook. You can see here the process of a seed becoming a flower, starting with all essential stages that are required for the process, firstly the planting of the seed, falling from the tree, then the sunshine and rain that provide the seeds nourishment, followed by the beautiful flower that will be the final finished product of the whole process. What a lovely reward!

Angles

Our teacher, Ibu Shirely found another great mathematics game about angles.

Whilst playing this terrific game, I learnt many things about right, acute and obtuse angles.

A right angle is formed to look like the shape L , an acute angle is slightly smaller than a right angle and an obtuse angle is larger than a right angle. Angles are formed when two lines meet with one another at the same point.

Whilst playing this game, I was able to utilise my qualities as an inquirer, as I asked questions regarding how these angles are actually formed.

My Flipbook

Mrs Jane came up with a wonderful activity for the grade three students, we were asked to produce our own flipbook!

This activity was different from any other activity that I had done before because the purpose of this task was to show how still objects can actually be perceived as moving objects, simply by repeating the same drawing, but with small changes applied to it, and arranging the drawings in the correct order, so when we join the pages together and flip the book, we will have the perception that the picture is actually moving!

In my case I chose a lady holding a golf stick and I drew the same picture ten times (to make up the ten pages of my flipbook), and every time I lifted the angle of the golf stick to make it appear that the lady was actually swinging the stick, ready to hit the ball.

I had an interesting time putting together this book, as I kept changing the subject of my flipbook before I actually decided on the swinging golf stick.

I was able to put to use my skills as a thinker, as I had to think about how much of an angle to lift the golf stick by each time to give the impression that the lady was actually swinging it.

No ordinary Friday

On Friday we all enjoyed a public holiday, but some of the grade three students gathered together at Juhee's home for a day of fun and activities.

I left my house , together with my brothers, in high spirits as I was really looking forward to spending the day with my friends. Another reason that the day was to be a special one, is because we have recently found out that Juhee will be going to America, and the extra time that we spend with Juhee will be special to us all.

We were all invited to bring a piece of art along to participate in the exhibition, that was to be part of the days planned events. I was so happy to see some of my classmates had also attended, such as Kim and Aditya.

We enjoyed a lovely day together and, apart from the exhibition, we had a game of soccer with Juhee's father, which was great fun, and we were entertained by Lauren, who kept us laughing at her endless jokes.

Afterwards we went swimming at a complex in Bogor and had so much fun, but at the same time, got completely tired out.

After finally returning home, I realized how exhausted I actually was. What a wonderful day I had with my friends.

Thank you Juhee, that was no ordinary Friday!
